Downtown Ithaca

Ithaca, a vibrant and eclectic small city, is only 8 miles away from the Halsey House, and is packed full of restaurants, entertainment, and art for you to explore.

Colleges & Universities

The Ithaca-Trumansburg area is home to several well-respected colleges and universities — including Cornell University, Ithaca College, and Wells College — making it ideally situated to take a campus tour or attend one of many events open to the public.

Wineries

The Halsey House is located in the heart of the Cayuga wine trail, which is America’s first wine trail and is comprised of more than a dozen wineries along Cayuga Lake. The Seneca wine trail, which has over 30 member wineries, is also located in the greater Finger Lakes region.

Festivals

Whether it’s winter, spring, summer, or fall, there are always special events and festivals happening in the area, from the Grassroots music festival in July to the Festival of Lights in December.
